Sisyphus is quite dynamic project which makes it hard to schedule and perform releases based on it. To overcome this system of branches was invented: Sisyphus is regularely branched creating a new repository which is then stabilized for several months. Resulting repository is called a branch and can be used as a basis for distributions and solutions.

Branch contents

Every branch is an APT repository containing source and binary RPM packages along with metadata.

Additionaly every branch has a bugzilla product for bugtracking and packages.altlinux.org representation.

Current branches

p8 is the current stable branch, see downloads; p7/t7 represent oldstable; "p" (platform) ones are officially supported by ALT Linux Ltd and "t" (team) ones are supported by ALT Linux Team members.
